Palmetto Tree (SC) – Original Art

“Palmetto Tree (SC)” is an original mixed media piece created by Carrie Alderfer. It was inspired by the diverse landscape of the state. You can go from ocean to the mountains and never leave South Carolina! I feature the state tree, the Palmetto Tree, because everyone who grew up in South Carolina learns how Palmetto logs were used to build Fort Moultrie and helped defeat the British fleet by absorbing the impact from the cannon balls. This piece was made with acrylics, paint pens, and ink on watercolor paper, adhered to a cradled wood panel, and sealed.
