New Beginnings Ornament

Normally I make the pieces in my space series with a focus on the original art. In this case, I really wanted to make an ornament of the SLS in honor of Artemis 1 mission, so I made an 8×10 original with the plan that it would also be an ornament. The original art for this piece was created with colored pencils, wax crayons, and acrylics.

For this ornament I scanned my original art. I then print it with pigment ink and cut out the print with the Cricut. I spray the backs of the wood discs with glitter paint. I use acrylic gel medium to adhere the print to the wood, add glitter, and then seal with a UV spray varnish. Each ornament comes with a coordinating ribbon so it is ready to hang.
